This is a mixed bag of pics and I will do my best to explain. The pic on the left, through the back gate of our complex, shows the little grocery store located across the street. He carries a nice selection of food and necessities. The pic on the right shows the kids from the next building making use of the construction that has been going on for the last six months to make a soccer field.

The next two pics should be of our apartment building. It is called the Union Centre (and that is how it is spelled). The next pic on the left shows what I am always saying about Kuwait being a country of differences. On the right of the pic you see an almost new building, in the middle you see a building that looks like it has been slotted to be torn down, and then the building on the left shows one of the less attractive buildings. There is no such thing as property values here......lol.

The pic of the cats show one of the many cat families that live around or in our facility. They are pretty wild but will let you get close enough to feed them. The pic of the top of the buildings shows the water tanks that are on top of all the buildings in Kuwait. This is their hot water system. I don't know where they store what is suppose to be the cold water, but during the summer there is no such thing as cold water. So that basically means that showers are hot, hot and you jump in and out of the water.....lol. The pic of the man with the two wheel dolley is one of the many men who pick up and deliver gas cans. Thats right I said gas cans. The stoves here work on gas tanks like we use on our gas grills at home. When it runs out you tell you Haras (manager) and someone comes and gets your can, takes it to get filled up, and then brings it back and hooks it up. I have seen some of these guys walk a mile or more to get the cans filled up and then walk the same distance to take them back. You also see them working until late in the night.
